Orioles’ 2024 schedule features first opening day in Baltimore since 2018

14 July 2023

On the same day Maryland Gov. Wes Moore and Orioles CEO and Chairman John Angelos issued a statement about the future of Camden Yards, the team announced its regular-season schedule for next season.

The Orioles’ lease with the Maryland Stadium Authority expires at the end of this year, but Baltimore is scheduled to host the club’s opening day game for the first time since 2018. After five straight years of the Orioles beginning the season on the road, they will host the Los Angeles Angels on March 28 to start their 2024 campaign.

The Orioles’ 2022 opener was scheduled to be played at Camden Yards before the league’s owners’ lockout caused a one-week delay to the season.

Baltimore’s 2024 opening homestand also includes a series with the Kansas City Royals before the club heads to Pittsburgh and Boston for its first road trip. Beginning in 2023, each team plays MLB’s 29 others, alternating home-and-road series each year with teams in the opposite league. In 2024, the Orioles will host the National League teams they traveled to face this season: the Milwaukee Brewers, Arizona Diamondbacks, Atlanta Braves, Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago Cubs, San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants. They continue to play the neighboring Washington Nationals both in Baltimore and D.C.

As part of the rebalanced schedule, the Orioles’ games against American League East opponents were reduced starting this year. They’ll play four series, two at home and two on the road, against the division’s other four teams, with 13 games against each. The Orioles play seven home games against the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox and six against the Tampa Bay Rays and Toronto Blue Jays. A 23-game stretch from May 27 to June 20 includes nearly a third of the Orioles’ divisional matchups, with 17 games against AL East foes in that span.

The Orioles will play at home on Easter, Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, Father’s Day and Labor Day.

Game times and ticket sales will be announced at a later date.
