Business People: U.S. Bancorp names new investment leadership

Evamarie Schoenborn

U.S. Bancorp, Minneapolis, announced Evamarie Schoenborn as chief executive officer of U.S. Bancorp Investments Inc., UnionBanc Investment Services and PFM Fund Distributors, effective June 30. Schoenborn joins the company from Northwestern Mutual, where she was president and CEO of its Wealth Management division.

DEVELOPMENT

Minneapolis-based Schafer Richardson announced that Matthew Niedenfuer has joined as vice president of construction. Niedenfuer previously led senior living projects for Ryan Cos.

FINANCIAL SERVICES

Insurance brokerage Holmes Murphy announced the following new hires/shareholders in Minneapolis: Ryan Anderson, Tim Boberg, April Mans and Jay Reimers.

GOVERNMENT

Ramsey County announced that Jennifer Schuster-Jaeger has been named permanent director of its Health and Wellness Administration Division. She has served as interim director since March of 2020.

HEALTH CARE

Bluestone Physician Services, a Stillwater-based provider of onsite medical services to assisted living communities, announced the appointment of Dr. Rajiv Patel as chief executive officer. Most recently, Patel served as president of Centene Corp.‘s Health Care Enterprises and Provider Strategy initiatives. … HealthPartners, a Bloomington-based health insurer and health care provider, announced Jennifer Danielson as executive vice president and chief health plan officer. Most recently, Danielson was chief growth officer at Collective Health.

Austin, Minn.-based Hormel Foods Corp. announced that Leslie Lee, vice president of digital experience, was named one of the 2023 Top Women in Grocery by Progressive Grocer magazine. … Taylor Corp., a Mankato-based provider of commercial printing services, announced that three of its promotional videos received Telly Awards, honoring achievements in film and video production. … Minnesota Power, a utility division of Duluth-based Allete, announced it received the Edison Electric Institute’s Emergency Response Award for its response during the winter storm of December 2022. … The School Photographers of America, a trade association for school photography and yearbooks, announced that Eden Prairie-based Lifetouch National School Studios/Shutterfly, and company founders Eldon Rothgeb and R. Bruce Reinecker, have been inducted in the inaugural class of its Industry Hall of Fame.

MEDIA

Cumulus Media announced the appointment of Wade Linder as program director for Minneapolis classic rock station 92 KQRS-FM; Linder moves to Cumulus Minneapolis from a similar role at Cumulus Chicago, and earlier was with Minneapolis rock station 93X/KXXR-FM.

MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY

Patterson Cos., a Mendota Heights-based national supplier of medial equipment to veterinary and dental practices, announced that Meenu Agarwal has been elected to the board of directors. Agarwal is an executive at Workday Inc.Predictive Oncology, an Eagan-based developer of AI-influenced cancer treatments, announced the appointment of Dr. Bernard A. Harris Jr. to its newly-formed Business Advisory Board. Harris currently serves as CEO and managing partner of venture capital firm Vesalius Ventures.

NONPROFITS

The Initiative Foundation, Little Falls, announced it has appointed Lynn Bushinger and Don Hickman to co-lead the organization. Bushinger has served as the foundation’s chief financial officer, chief operations officer and treasurer; Hickman serves as vice president for community and workforce development. The foundation offers financial support and services to businesses in central Minnesota.

ORGANIZATIONS

The State of Minnesota announced that Secretary of State Steve Simon was sworn in as the National Association of Secretaries of State president-elect. Simon will take over as president for the 2024-25 term. … Fredrikson, a Minneapolis-based law firm, announced that government relations specialist Cody J. Holliday has been elected to the St. Anthony Area Chamber of Commerce. 

RESTAURANTS

Border Foods, a New Hope-based Taco Bell franchisee, announced the opening of a location at 2031 London Road in Duluth. It is Border Foods’ third Taco Bell in the Duluth area, 93rd restaurant in Minnesota and 239th restaurant in the upper Midwest.

RETAIL

Minneapolis-based Target Corp. has named Katie Stratton chief growth officer for its grocery delivery service Shipt.

TECHNOLOGY

Icario, a St. Louis Park-based provider of health care industry software and services, announced it has named Julia Zhang chief technology officer. Zhang previously held a similar role at Transcend Insights.
