MINNEAPOLIS Kristin Diede and Bob Anderson were a Bloomington, Minnesota, couple last seen while on a visit to Diede’s hometown of Wishek in rural North Dakota on Aug. 15, 1993. Days later, their vehicle was discovered abandoned in the South Dakota town of Aberdeen, about 100 miles away.
What happened to the duo remains a troubling mystery for both family members and law enforcement, sparking an enduring, multi-state, decades-long quest to figure out what happened to them.
In early 2022, Forum Communication Co.’s Dakota Spotlight podcast dug into the case for the sixth season of the investigative true crime show, in a season called: “Vanishing Act: The Untold Story of Kristin Joy Diede and Bob Anderson.”
Over 11 episodes, Dakota Spotlight worked with Diede and Anderson family members and a former homicide detective to methodically explore the case, tracing the couple’s movements in the days leading up to their disappearance, tracking down new clues, interviewing friends and family and asking hard questions of Diede’s ex-husband, Clyde Diede, a chiropractor who now lives in South Dakota.
