Vikings’ Jordan Addison agrees to plead guilty to speeding in Lamborghini in St. Paul, pay $686 fine

24 August 2023

Vikings rookie receiver Jordan Addison, clocked at 140 mph in his sports car on Interstate 94 in St. Paul, has agreed to plead guilty to speeding. A charge of reckless driving will be dismissed, according to a court document filed Wednesday.

Addison was originally cited for two misdemeanors. As part of a sentencing agreement, the speeding charge will be amended to a petty misdemeanor.

A Minnesota State Patrol trooper pulled Addison over in a 2021 Lamborghini Urus on July 20 about 3:15 a.m. on eastbound on I-94 near Dale Street. The speed limit there is 55 mph.

“Driver stated his dog was having an emergency at his residence, and that was the reason for his speed,” the citation stated. He issued a public apology the day after he was pulled over.

Addison is to pay a $300 fine, in additional to surcharges of $386, for a total of $686.

The sentencing agreement is subject to approval by a judge.

The Vikings signed Addison to a four-year, $13.7 million deal on May 17.

Addison has been turning heads at Vikings training camp, showcasing why the Vikings selected him No. 23 overall in the 2023 NFL Draft.

He was placed in concussion protocol last week after making a catch late in a practice. He has since cleared concussion protocol and was a full participant in the joint practice with the Arizona Cardinals on Wednesday.
