NORMAN COUNTY, Minn. A woman from Grand Rapids, Michigan, was killed in a crash Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 27, in Sundal Township.
According to a report from the Minnesota State Patrol, the 61-year-old woman was westbound along 330th Avenue in a 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe at the time of the crash. Samuel Martin Olson, a 75-year-old Crookston man, was northbound along Highway 32 in a 2009 Volvo semi.
The two collided, the patrol reported, and the woman died. Olson was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was uninjured. Alcohol was not involved on Olson’s part, the report stated.
A further description of the crash was not provided, though the report noted information was believed to be complete as of Thursday morning. Further identifying information on the woman will be released later Thursday, the patrol said.
The Norman County Sheriff’s Office, Fertile Fire Department and Essentia Ambulance also responded to the crash.
Sundal Township is roughly 30 miles southeast of Crookston.
