Photos: Family fun, history collide at Lester River Rendezvous

1 October 2023

DULUTH For a taste of what life was like in the northern wilderness centuries ago, the 24th annual Lester River Rendezvous provided some sights and sounds on Saturday.

Among the attractions at Lester River Road and Superior Street were skilled re-enactors showcasing blacksmithing and candle-making.

The event was free to attend and also featured more than 50 craft vendors, food trucks, a mobile petting zoo, a free kids fun zone with games and prizes, and more.

Saturday marked the third and final day of this year’s Lester River Rendezvous, as schools were invited to participate during the first two days on Thursday and Friday as part of an educational program. Reenactors offered local students an opportunity to learn about what life was like for the voyageurs who once traveled our local waterways.
