Aerosmith postpones farewell tour, which includes a November stop at Xcel Energy Center

2 October 2023

Aerosmith is postponing all upcoming tour dates, including a Nov. 13 stop at St. Paul’s Xcel Energy Center, to give Steven Tyler the chance to recover from a serious vocal injury.

All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the rescheduled dates, which have yet to be announced but will take place in 2024. Once the new schedule is announced, refunds will be available for ticketholders who can’t make the rescheduled date.

Tyler first hurt his vocal cords on the third night of the tour, a Sept. 9 concert in New York, which led to the group postponing a half dozen dates. But after Tyler took an extended break from singing, his doctors found further damage.

“Unfortunately, Steven’s vocal injury is more serious than initially thought,” reads a post on the band’s Facebook page. “His doctor has confirmed that in addition to the damage to his vocal cords, he fractured his larynx which requires ongoing care. He is receiving the best medical treatment available to ensure his recovery is swift, but given the nature of a fracture, he is being told patience is essential.”

Dubbed Peace Out: The Farewell Tour, Aerosmith’s outing is set to be their final shows together. Drummer and founding member Joey Kramer is not joining the tour in order to “focus his full attention on his family and health.”
