Chisholm native Roger Enrico, who was named president of PepsiCo’s Pepsi-Cola USA division earlier this year, will be the main speaker at a Columbus Day dinner Saturday in Chisholm. U.S. Steel’s Great Lakes Fleet is applying for federal permission to sell two vessels to a Canadian scrapyard. The Duluth-based fleet has tentatively offered the lakers Horace Johnson and John Mulst to Western Metals Corportation in Thunder Bay.

Walter P. Sorenson, 64, a pioneer in the auto parts supply business in the area, died yesterday in Duluth. He was a partner with R.J. Stephenson in forming the S&S Auto Parts Co. in 1920. Duluth Mayor George D. Johnson appointed a 12-member committee for the employment of the physically handicapped yesterday. The committee will develop plans and educational campaigns to promote the acceptance of physically handicapped workers.]]>
