High school football roundup: Ask’s five touchdown passes lead Farmington past Eagan for first win of season

Farmington 56, Eagan 28: Farmington (1-5) earned its first win of the season in style, with Jonah Ask tossing five touchdown passes. Two of those went to Cody Renzy, and two went to Trevor Rasmusson.

Carson Schwamb ran in two scores for Eagan (2-4).

St. Thomas Academy 35, Apple Valley 7: Savion Hart ran in three touchdowns and Niko Vargas added a 49-yard rushing touchdown as the Cadets (5-1) cruised to their fifth straight win.

Jackson Thornburgh connected with Quieris Barnslater for a 10-yard scoring strike in the fourth quarter for the lone score for Apple Valley (3-3).

St. Agnes 42, Austin 7: Adam Hernandez ran eight times for 105 yards and three touchdowns, Elijah Simmons added 15 carries for 105 yards and a score, and Landen Mickelson threw for two scores as St. Agnes improved to 6-0.

Evonson Plamann caught two passes, one on each side of the ball – a 9-yard receiving touchdown and an interception. The Aggies have yet to surrender more than 14 points in a game this season.

Mahtomedi 34, Cretin-Derham Hall 18: Alec Mahoney ran 30 times for 241 yards and five touchdowns. The Zephyrs (4-2) ran for 328 yards as a team.

Stillwater 38, White Bear Lake 14: On a night where the running game struggled, Stillwater (5-1) leaned heavily on the arm of Nick Kinsey. The sophomore went 20 for 36 through the air, throwing for 346 yards and four touchdowns.

Joseph Hoheisel reeled in two of those scores, while Tanner Schmidt had seven grabs for 120 yards and a touchdown.

Kesean Lipscomb ran 21 times for 173 yards for the Bears (1-5).

Concordia Academy 24, St. Croix Lutheran 14: Samuel Haug ran in three touchdowns for the Beacons (2-4) – including a 25-yard, go-ahead score in the final frame after St. Croix Lutheran (3-3) rallied from a 14-0 halftime deficit to knot the contest in the fourth.
