After gunfire was heard within a house in Fish Lake Township Friday afternoon, deputies found a woman dead inside and arrested a 39-year-old man in connection with the death, according the Chisago County sheriff’s office.
About noon on Friday deputies were called to a home on Elmcrest Avenue after a family member called authorities to report a “possible disturbance,” a press release Friday night said.
As deputies approached the house they heard gunfire. The sheriff’s office’s SWAT team responded and found a woman inside the house who was dead. Mike Larry Carda, 39, was arrested on suspicion of the death.
The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy on the victim to determine cause and manner of death.
No further information was available Saturday morning.
