The No. 16 Gophers volleyball team lost to Rutgers 25-20, 25-22, 16-25, 25-14 on Saturday at Jersey Mike’s Arena in New Brunswick, N.J.
The loss dropped Minnesota’s record to 6-8 overall and 2-4 in the Big Ten as the regular season reached its halfway point. The win was the first in Rutgers program history over a ranked team.
Mckenna Wucherer led Minnesota with 16 kills, while Lydia Grote added 13 and Taylor Landfair 12. The Gophers got 12 digs from Kylie Murr and seven blocks from Arica Davis.
Alissa Kinkela paced Rutgers with 17 kills, 13 digs and two blocks.
