You could tell it was bad by the way pass rusher Marcus Davenport hopped off the natural grass at Soldier Field over the weekend. With the Vikings playing the Chicago Bears on the road, Davenport suffered an ankle injury, and ultimately had to be carted to the locker room.
After going through the evaluation process, the Vikings officially placed Davenport on injured reserve on Wednesday morning, ensuring he will miss at least a month as he works his way back to full strength.
This is the latest setback for Davenport after he missed a couple of games earlier this season with an ankle injury. He was starting to come into his own opposite pass rusher Danielle Hunter.
In a corresponding move, the Vikings activated running back Kene Nwangwu to the 53-man roster. He hasn’t played this season after suffering a back injury in training camp.
