Snowplow flips in crash near Duluth’s Mesaba Avenue

31 December 2023

DULUTH Two people were injured when a snowplow lost control on an icy street Sunday morning.

The Duluth Police Department responded at about 8:30 a.m. to a report of a traffic crash at Fifth Avenue West and Fourth Street, the department said in a statement. Investigators learned that a Duluth Public Works snowplow was unable to stop due to slippery road conditions, and it slid into a car that was stopped at a stop sign. The impact flipped the plow onto its side.

The two people in the car both reported minor injuries; the passenger was transported to a local hospital, police said.

Authorities did not immediately name the parties involved in the crash.
