Two officers injured during Burnsville standoff

Kare11 reports two police officers were injured after an 8-hour standoff in Burnsville Saturday. The suspect is in custody.

Via MPR News: The Minnesota State Mankato men’s and women’s basketball teams captured the NCAA DII titles this weekend, the second time one university has won both titles since 1984.

KSTP reports BNSF and CPKC have told state officials they will not make a nearly $1 million payment to improve rail safety, saying the state law is pre-empted by federal law.

The Star Tribune reports Proctor, Minnesota is in contempt of court over a parking garage bid. “The dispute over the $700,000 garage includes a contested bid process, a court-ordered work stoppage that didn’t immediately stop work and claims of a construction company’s incompetence answered with claims of on-going harassment from members of the carpenters’ union.” 

Sahan Journal reports Ride Co-op has already signed up 200 drivers in the Twin Cities and is supported by the Minnesota Uber and Lyft Drivers Association.

WCCO reports police are investigating after an 11-year-old boy was shot in the head in St. Paul. “The 13-year-old suspected shooter was found five minutes away along Charles Avenue, according to police. She was taken into custody.”
