Minneapolis residents attempt to clear homeless encampment

Fox9 reports residents in Minneapolis’ Powderhorn neighborhood tried to clear a homeless encampment over the weekend. Responding police officers made an arrest of a man from the encampment allegedly threatening people with a bow and arrow.

Via Star Tribune: “Republican U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson made a pit stop in Minneapolis on Sunday to campaign with House GOP candidate Joe Teirab and preview the party’s line of attack against Gov. Tim Walz in his home state.”

Bring Me the News reports the Minnesota Lynx will head to the playoffs after the regular season ends following their win over the Indiana Fever Saturday.

Star Tribune columnist Karen Tolkkinen writes fans of the old state flag “illustrates our political divides” especially in rural Minnesota. “The farmer in the old state flag could have been an ancestor of many people in our area. I can see that they might feel, like the Native man riding into the sunset, that they are being written out of history.”
