2016 Minnesota Teacher of the Year charged with criminal sexual conduct

Kirsten Mitchell at WCCO News is reporting Abdul Wright, a former Minnesota Teacher of the Year, has been charged with criminal sexual conduct involving a 14-year-old student. The alleged sexual assault was said to have taken place in 2017, when Wright was an English teacher at Harvest Best Academy in north Minneapolis.

Frederick Melo at the Pioneer Press reports the troubled Lowry Apartments in downtown St. Paul were sold Wednesday at a sheriff’s sale to mortgage lender Lowry Apartments LLC — a subsidiary of Colliers International — for $7 million in credit.

Tim Harlow at the Minnesota Star Tribune reports two amur tiger cubs — one boy and one girl — were born last week at the Como Zoo in St. Paul. The twins are the first tigers to be born at Como in more than 40 years.
