In Your Community: Order Eastern Stars collect food for Salvation Army

Austin Eastern Stars Chapter members along with some people from the state level spent two hours recently at Jim’s Marketplace and Hy-Vee.

Between the grocery store collection and a collection from members and visitors at the lodge, they collected almost $800 and 165 pounds of food.

The group then went to the lodge for a lunch and joint meeting.

The food has already been delivered to the Salvation Army food pantry and the Packer Pantry. A request will be made to Minnesota Masonic Charities to match the money raised, which means each the organization will get approximately $800

Since it was the first time for event, the Austin Eastern Stars Chapter considers it a great success.
