CHISHOLM — A man has died after a house fire on the Iron Range.
According to a news release from the Chisholm Police Department posted on the City of Chisholm’s Facebook page, firefighters were dispatched at approximately 9:25 p.m. Monday to a call of a fire on the 100 block of 1st Street Northwest. The police department said a man was rescued from the upstairs and life-saving measures were performed before he was transported to a hospital in Hibbing. The man was later pronounced dead at the hospital, according to police.
The name of the man has not yet been released and an official cause of death is still being determined, as the incident remains under investigation.
The house sustained a large amount of damage, according to the news release.
The Chisholm Police Department and Chisholm Fire Department were assisted by fire departments from Hibbing, Buhl and French Township and Chisholm EMS.
