Ikes to hold cookout fundraiser

The Izaak Walton League will hold a Steak Cookout Fundraiser from 5:30-7 p.m. on Oct. 9 at the Izaak Walton Cabin in Todd Park.

Menu includes:

• New York Strip steak, 12 ounce.

• Baked potato, baked beans, and coleslaw

• Chocolate Chip Cookie

• Free hot dogs for kids

This event is open to the public. Tickets are $20 and are available at the door.

All proceeds from the cookout will be used to support restoration work at Mower County Wildlife Management Areas (WMA). Ramsey Mill Pond, Mentel, and Cary Creek are three WMA’s that Austin Chapter 10 has been raising funds for habitat improvement and controlling invasive species. Improved habitats help birds, butterflies, pollinators and other wildlife.

Austin Chapter 10 will also be drawing the winners of the Austin Whitewater on the Cedar raffle at the cookout.
