Bernie Sanders campaigns for Harris in Superior

8 October 2024

SUPERIOR — U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders, D-Vermont, is traveling to Superior on Saturday, Oct. 12, to campaign for Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

Sanders will be at Superior High School from noon to 2:30 p.m. to talk about how Harris and Walz are fighting for a new way forward to build up the middle class and lower costs for working families and contrast that with the agenda of former President Donald Trump and U.S. Sen. JD Vance, of Ohio.

The Harris-Walz campaign is focused on earning votes everywhere in Wisconsin, including rural areas. Since the Harris campaign launched in July, Harris and Walz have over 50 coordinated campaign offices across 43 counties, including in Douglas and Ashland counties, and have knocked on more than 750,000 doors across Wisconsin with the help of volunteers, including nearly 300,000 doors in red counties that Trump won in 2020.

In recent weeks, the area has seen visits from Walz for a rally with 1,400 people in Superior and a tour around the region from Secretary Deb Haaland of the Department of the Interior.
