A 37-year-old man was identified by police on Monday as the person killed in a stabbing in St. Paul’s Snelling-Hamline neighborhood over the weekend.

Randall B. Williams died at Regions Hospital on Friday.

There had been an altercation Friday morning between Williams and another resident of a home, which ended with Williams being stabbed, the St. Paul Police Department reported earlier.

Officers arrested a man at the scene in the 1500 block of Iglehart Avenue near Asbury Street.

Williams and the suspect were apparently both renters in the home.

Police said Monday that they continue to investigate the homicide.
