Owners of Duluth businesses are trying to stay open during Interstate 35 construction say poorly worded signs have added to their woes. The Minnesota Department of Transportation closed Superior Street between Washington Avenue and 10th Avenue East two weeks ago, through access to businesses is being maintained. Duluth teachers have delayed until Nov. 16 a decision on whether to strike. The teachers were scheduled to take a strike vote this week.

St. Louis County deputies are searching for persons who dynamited an abandoned farm house near Pike Lake. Authorities said the building was reduced to kindling, and materials were hurled 100 feet into the nearby woods. Duluth Mayor George D. Johnson has been invited to attend a White House conference on civil defense in December. Johnson said he will probably attend with officials from other municipalities.]]>
